WSC Chapter of the MSCA

On 17 December 2008, Massachusetts Secretary of Education Paul Reville appointed Dr. Richard Freeland as Commissioner of Higher Education (c.f. Secretary appoints Freeland as Higher Education Commissioner). Shortly thereafter Commissioner Freeland formed the Commissioner's Advisory Group on Higher Education. On 6 October 2009 Secretary Freeland presented his vision for Higher Education in Massachusetts (see attached PowerPoint Presentation) and on 12 December 2009 the Advisory Group presented the results of their year-long study (see attached PowerPoint Presentation) along with their final report (see attached PDF). A review of these documents will provide insight into the future that the BHE desires for Massachusetts public higher education.
